Patrol Vehicle Hits and Injures Pedestrian at James Avenue and El Camino Real Wednesday
REDWOOD CITY, Ca (September 18, 2019) – A Redwood City police officer struck a pedestrian in the area of James Avenue and El Camino Real, according to ABC News.
The collision happened Wednesday at approximately 9:47 a.m.
Initial reports indicated the officer and a police K-9 were responding to an emergency call about a possible home invasion robbery progress in the 300 block of Poplar Avenue.
When the patrol vehicle approached the area near James Avenue and El Camino Real, the police apparently lost control due to the slick roads. The car then careened across the center median, and hit a male pedestrian.
Our sources indicated the man sustained serious injuries and was listed in critical condition at a hospital.
At this time, liabilities in the collision remained under investigation.
