Bicycle Rider Badly Injured in Reedley Crash Near Springfield and Justine
REEDLEY, CA (May 18, 2023) – A teenage bicycle rider was badly injured after a crash near Springfield and Justine avenues in Reedley.
According to the FOX 26 News and ABC 30 News, the accident took place on Wednesday afternoon. Officers reported the collision on May 17 at around 2:30 p.m.
The incident happened when a teenage boy was riding a bicycle eastbound on a Reedley sidewalk. At the same time, a white truck was going west on Springfield Avenue near Justine Avenue.
For an unknown reason, the vehicle sideswiped a parked car and overcorrected. Police said the truck rolled over and then struck the bicyclist.

The vehicle flipped a second time and came to a rest on a fence in the front yard of a home. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and found the cyclist hurt.
The teen sustained a broken arm and leg as a result of the accident. An air ambulance flew him to the Community Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Meanwhile, police added that the driver ended up unharmed following the wreck. Officers forced the area of Springfield and Justine avenues to shut down after the incident.
The cause of the Reedley bicycle crash is still under investigation.
