Man, 48, Killed in El Cajon Pedestrian Crash on I-8 Freeway
El Cajon, Calif. (March 16, 2023) – Reginald Burke, 48, died in a pedestrian accident on the Interstate 8 Freeway Sunday, March 12th in El Cajon.
The traffic accident occurred around 8:20 p.m. near Main Street, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.
A driver reportedly hit the homeless El Cajon man in the westbound side of the freeway.

Paramedics responded to the accident scene and provided medical aid to the injured man, but despite their efforts he died at the scene around 8:33 p.m. The victim was identified on the San Diego Medical Examiner’s website.
“My thoughts and prayers extend to the family of this man as they cope with this tragedy,” said Attorney James Johnson.
It’s unknown at this time if the motorist involved stopped.
Meanwhile, investigators are working on the case to determine fault for the pedestrian accident on the Interstate 8 in El Cajon.
