1 Killed, 2 Injured in Reseda Crash on Corbin Avenue Near Saticoy Street
LOS ANGELES, CA (May 23, 2021) – A car crash on Corbin Avenue killed one person and injured two others in the Reseda neighborhood.
The incident happened when two cars were seen street racing north on Corbin Avenue in Reseda. One of the speeding vehicle, a BMW, spun out of control.
Police said the BMW drifted into oncoming traffic and struck another vehicle head-on. The BMW hit a parked car and then a fourth vehicle that was going south on Corbin at the time.
Street Racing Factor in Multi-Car Collision
Five more parked cars and a utility pole ended up damaged by the chain-reaction collision, just north of Saticoy Street. The driver of the BMW, a 25- to 30-year-old man, died at the scene.
Firefighters along with the paramedics extricated one trapped occupant from the wreckage. They soon rushed the rescued individual to a hospital and listed them in serious condition.
Medical personnel took another patient for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released.
Meanwhile, officials forced the area of Corbin to shut down for several hours following the Reseda crash. The fatal wreck is still under investigation.
