Rhodora Bachillar Hit by SUV in Fatal Bicycle Accident
LONG BEACH, Calif. (Jan. 7, 2019) — Rhodora Roldan Bachillar, 64, of Long Beach, died Thursday when she was struck by an SUV at Willow Street and Golden Avenue, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff Coroner.
The collision was reported at 6 p.m. on January 3rd. The woman had been riding northbound on Golden Avenue and crossing Willow Street on a green light. The light turned to red while she was still in the intersection. Meanwhile, a 50-year-old Long Beach man driving a 1993 Ford Explorer SUV, reportedly accelerated when the light turned green for him. He reportedly struck the woman and caused major injuries. She was taken to a hospital where she later died of her injuries four hours later.
The driver stopped and remained at the scene where he was questioned by police.
