Woman Killed in Collision at Maple Avenue and Foothill Boulevard
Rialto, CA (August 22, 2022) – One person died following a car accident that occurred in the area of Maple Avenue and Foothill Boulevard on August 21, Sunday.
The Fontana Herald News reported two vehicles collided at the intersection in Rialto. Preliminary investigation revealed the driver of a Mercedes SUV run a red light at the crossing in an attempt to escape an earlier crash. The Merced, heading west on Foothill, struck the Honda sedan traveling south on Maple.
Deadly Car Accident in Rialto
Shortly after 2:47 p.m., rescue teams arrived at the location. Responding paramedics found the driver of the Honda unconscious. Despite life-saving measures performed by medical personnel, the woman sadly succumbed to her trauma and passed away. The identity of the deceased remained undisclosed pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
Authorities arrested the driver of the Mercedes after the deadly incident. Additional details on the suspect have not been discussed thus far.
At this time, detectives continue to gather several information surrounding the fatal collision that happened at Maple Avenue and Foothill Boulevard.
