Man Severely Injured in Rialto Hit-and-Run Near Willow Avenue and South Street
RIALTO, CA (May 23, 2021) – A hit-and-run crash severely injured a pedestrian near Willow Avenue and South Street in Rialto.
According to an article published by The Press Enterprise, the accident took place late Thursday night. Officers reported the incident on May 20 shortly after 10 p.m.
Rialto police said a vehicle struck a male pedestrian for an unknown reason. The driver hit him near the intersection of Willow Avenue and South Street.
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and found the man left lying on the ground as a result of the collision.
Pedestrian Hit by Car in Rialto
Medical personnel soon rushed him to a hospital for treatment of severe injuries. The name of the wounded patient and his condition at this time were not disclosed.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid to the pedestrian and fled the area. Officials described the car involved as a silver 2003-2009 2-door Infiniti G35.
The Infiniti sustained front-end damage on the passenger side following the accident. Officers forced the intersection of Willow Avenue and South Street to close after the crash.
