Ricardo Trujillo Acosta Jr. and Javier Mora Jr., both 19, Killed in Shafter Crash
SHAFTER, CA (April 23, 2021) – A crash at Central Valley Highway and Fresno Avenue killed Ricardo Trujillo Acosta Jr. and Javier Mora Jr. in Shafter.
The Coroner’s Office identified the two 19-year-old Wasco men as the occupants of a vehicle involved in the tragic accident on Tuesday afternoon.
The incident began when a 2009 BMW 328i was traveling south on Central Valley Highway. At the same time, a Chrysler Aspen was going west on Fresno Avenue.
Car Collision at Central Valley and Fresno Avenue
For an unknown reason, the two cars then collided at the intersection of Central Valley and Fresno. Kern Golden Empire and Bakersfield Now reported the wreck on April 20 at about 4:42 p.m.
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and pronounced Javier Mora Jr. dead at the scene. Javier Mora was riding as a passenger while Ricardo Antonio Trujillo Acosta Jr. was driving at the time.
Medical personnel took Ricardo Trujillo Acosta and the other motorist, an elderly woman, to a hospital where they died. The cause of the fatal Shafter crash is still under investigation.
Meanwhile, officers forced the intersection to shut down for a time following the collision.
