Richard Bartolo, 64, Killed in Truck Accident on Highway 101
LOCATION: San Jose
DATE OF ACCIDENT: Wednesday, January 9th
January 10, 2019 – 64-year-old Richard Bartolo has been identified as the fatal victim in a truck crash on Highway 101 early Wednesday morning, according to East Bay Times.
Investigators determined Bartolo was sleeping in the back seat of a box truck, that was traveling northbound on SR-101 around 3:45 a.m. Then, the truck operator allegedly fell asleep and caused the truck to veer off the roadway and flip several times.
Deadly Truck Accident in San Jose Wednesday, Jan 9
Emergency personnel responded to the crash site, near McKee Road, and found Bartolo unconscious. Paramedics performed CPR but the man was pronounced dead at the location.
Meanwhile, the truck operator reportedly suffered major injuries as a result of the crash. No other details were immediately released
The collision closed all northbound lanes of Highway 101 until about 6 a.m.
The deadly crash remained under investigation.
