Motorcyclist Richard Cramer, 43, Killed in Carpinteria Crash on Highway 150
CARPINTERIA (March 15, 2019) – A Friday morning collision between a motorcycle and a pickup truck left the motorcyclist dead on Highway 150 in Carpinteria.
The victim, identified as 43-year-old Richard Cramer from Ojai, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The police said they received calls about a crash involving a BMW R1200Rs motorcycle and a Ford F-150 shortly after 6 in the morning at the intersection of Via Real.
Motorcycle Rider Hit by Car in Carpinteria, March 15
According to reports by Noozhawk, Cramer was driving his motorcycle on the westbound lane of the highway when he was struck by the Ford pickup truck being driven by a 47-year-old man from Oxnard. The driver was turning onto Via Real when the accident happened.
Responding officials recalled arriving at the scene of the crash and finding the victim on the ground unconscious. Emergency response personnel tried to save Cramer but he later died.
The driver, meanwhile, was unharmed in the crash and stayed at the scene to cooperate with the investigators. Police are still determining the circumstances that may have caused the collision.
