LA MIRADA, California (July 26, 2016) — Pedestrian Richard Del Castillo, 17, of Buena Park was killed in a car accident early Monday morning on Beach Boulevard, just north of Rosecrans Avenue, a California Highway Patrol report said.
The crash took place about 12:45 a.m. in the morning. The young man had been traveling in a car with four other people, but they all got out when it became disabled. A 21-year-old Whittier man then struck Del Castillo in the northbound lanes of Beach Boulevard. Paramedics responded and transported the injured teenager to UCI Medical Center in Orange where he died of his injuries about 6:48 a.m. the same day. There were no further details in the report about how the collision happened.
Police are investigating what happened and will issue a report with their findings.
