Man Fatally Struck by Vehicle on Highway 99
Bakersfield, CA (February 24, 2023) – Richard Anthony Gonzales, a 39-year-old man, died following a pedestrian accident that occurred on State Route Highway 99.
The Bakersfield.com News reported a vehicle struck a male party on SR-99 near Panama Lane. Officials said the horrible crash took place on February 9, Thursday.
Deadly Pedestrian Accident in Bakersfield
Emergency crews later responded to the accident scene and rendered aid to the victim found lying on the ground. Despite life-saving efforts performed by paramedics, the victim sadly succumbed to his injuries and passed away. The Kern County coroner’s office later identified the deceased as Richard Anthony Gonzales, of Bakersfield.
According to the article published online, the driver attempted to brake when they saw the pedestrian on the traffic lanes. However, the motorist was not able to stop on time and hit the man.
Detectives handling the case continue to investigate liability in the deadly accident that happened on Highway 99 in Bakersfield.
