Man, 93, Killed in Crash on Camino Del Rio North

 Richard Greenleaf, 93, Killed Mission Valley Crash Camino Del Rio North (July 20)MISSION VALLEY, Calif. (July 27, 2021) – Richard Greenleaf, 93, of San Diego, died five days after a Mission Valley crash on July 20th on Camino Del Rio North.

The elderly man was driving  eastbound on Camino Del Rio North in a 1994 Oldsmobile. Meanwhile, a westbound motorist in a 1989 Chrysler veered into his path and the two vehicles crashed head-on, according to San Diego Union-Tribune.

Also, the collision happened at about 4 p.m. just east of Interstate 805 Freeway, police said.

Fatal Crash in Mission Valley

Firefighters and paramedics responded to the accident scene and located the 93-year-old driver of the Chrysler trapped in the wreckage. Paramedics transported the critically-injured man to Sharp Memorial Hospital. Over the next five days, his condition worsened and he died at 6:38 a.m. on July 25th at the hospital. The San Diego Medical Examiner later identified the victim as Richard Greenleaf.

Meanwhile, police stated the other driver suffered injuries as a result of the incident. The person was transported by ambulance to a hospital for treatment.

Investigators continue to investigate the deadly Mission Valley collision.
