Man, 64, Struck, Killed on Post Street in Lower Nob Hill
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (Nov. 3, 2023) — Actor Richard D. May, 64, died in a pedestrian accident Oct. 28th on Post Street in the Lower Nob Hill area of San Francisco.
The deadly collision occurred at 11:10 a.m. in the 800 block of Post Street, according to the San Francisco Standard.
Two motorists collided after a white BMW allegedly ran through a red traffic light. The BMW also struck the pedestrian who was heading to a rehearsal for a play “Death of a Salesman,” at the nearby Taube Atrium Theater, East Bay Times reports.
Police responded to the two-vehicle crash at Post and Hyde streets and located the injured pedestrian who died at the scene.
Also, the San Francisco Police Department arrested the driver of the BMW.
There were no other injuries reported at this time.
Investigators are working on the case and will determine charges for the pedestrian accident on Post Street in San Francisco.
Meanwhile, the African-American Shakespeare Company has canceled its production of the San Francisco revival of “Death of a Salesman” due to the loss of its cast member, actor Richard D. May.
