1 Killed, 1 Injured in Crash at Temperance and Central Avenues
FRESNO, Calif. (Nov. 2, 2021) — Richard Neil, 63, of Fresno, died and another driver was injured in a two-vehicle collision Monday at Temperance Avenue and Central Avenue in Fresno County.
The deadly collision took place about 7:45 a.m. on Nov. 1st at the rural Fresno County intersection, according to the Fresno County Sheriff Coroner. The coroner released the victim’s name the following day.
Richard Neil Killed in Crash in Rural Fresno County
Richard Neil was driving a red Dodge Challenger southbound on Temperance. When he got to the intersection with Central, he allegedly ran a stop sign and crashed into the side of a westbound white pickup truck, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials report they closed down the intersection due to the deadly crash. Both vehicles suffered major damage in the collision. .
Richard Neil suffered severe injuries and died at the scene. Paramedics transported the driver of the pickup truck by ambulance to the hospital to treat a broken leg and possibly other injuries.
Investigators do not suspect drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
