Fatal Traffic Collision Near County Road 7 Monday
Orland, CA (March 15, 2022) – Richard Smith, a 59-year-old man, died following a car accident that occurred on County Road Highway 99, the KRCR News reported.
Our sources indicated Smith was driving a vehicle traveling south on Highway 99 Monday. Preliminary investigation revealed the horrible crash happened when a big rig heading north on the highway suddenly made a westbound turn onto County Road 7. According to the article published online, the truck collided into the vehicle driven by Smith.

The force from the impact caused the smaller vehicle to slam against a power pole. When rescue teams arrived, they found Smith unconscious inside the mangled car. Paramedics performed life-saving measures to the victim but he sadly succumbed to his injuries and died. Authorities confirmed the identity of the deceased as Richard Smith, of Corning.
Meanwhile, no immediate information was available on the driver of the big rig involved in the unfortunate event.
Further investigation on the case is ongoing.
