Richard Velasquez, 36, Fatal Victim in Pedestrian Accident on Meridian Avenue
San Jose, CA (March 11, 2021) – 36-year-old Richard Velasquez died at a hospital from injuries sustained in a pedestrian accident that occurred on February 4 in San Jose, the East Bay Times reported.
Our sources indicated Richard Velasquez, of San Jose, was walking westbound across Meridian Avenue. Officials mentioned the pedestrian crossed against a “do not walk” signal near the intersection of Parkmoor Avenue.
According to the news article, a passing black 2011 Jeep Cherokee traveling north on Meridian Avenue struck the male party. Responding paramedics rendered first aid to the injured pedestrian, then transported him to a hospital for treatment.

The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office confirmed Richard Velasquez sadly succumbed to his injuries and died on March 4, Thursday.
Meanwhile, officials mentioned the male driver appeared unharmed after the wreck.
Investigators handling the case continue to work at this time to determine several factors surrounding the deadly pedestrian accident.
