
Richard Wright, 48, Killed in Victorville Crash on Amargosa Road
VICTORVILLE, CA (May 6, 2023) – Richard Wright was killed after a car crash on Amargosa Road in Victorville.
The coroner’s office identified the 48-year-old Victorville man as the victim in the fatal wreck which took place on Thursday.
The incident happened when Richard Wright was driving a gray Lincoln pickup truck on Amargosa Road, just south of Luna Road, in Victorville.
2 Cars Collide
For an unknown reason, he collided with the back of a sedan waiting to turn onto the 15 Freeway. The pickup truck continued, spun out of control and crashed near a freeway sign pole.
Police said the Lincoln obtained major damage due to the impact of the collision. The Victor Valley News wrote that the accident occurred on May 4 at around 9 p.m.
Richard Wright ended up trapped inside his car as a result of the crash. Firefighters along with the paramedics freed him from the wreckage and soon pronounced him dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, officers forced Amargosa Road to shut down in both directions for several hours following the wreck. The cause of the Victorville crash is still under investigation.
