3 Injured in Richmond Crash on Westbound 80 Freeway Thursday
RICHMOND (July 2, 2020) – Three were injured, at least one seriously, after a traffic collision along the 80 Freeway early Thursday.
According to a California Highway Patrol dispatch, officers received a call about the accident involving two vehicles at around 12 a.m.
Their incident log said an Acura TL and a BMW sedan collided for an unknown reason on the westbound 80 Freeway, just east of the Cutting Boulevard off-ramp.

The Acura sustained major front-end damage upon impact. One of the cars involved reportedly slammed into a wall on the right hand shoulder in the process.
Richmond Fire Department officials along with the paramedics responded to the scene and attended to a total of three people who were hurt as a result of the crash.
Medical personnel transported one patient to the hospital who was confirmed to have suffered major injuries in the wreck. The names of the wounded parties and their condition were not disclosed.
Meanwhile, officers forced all lanes to temporarily shut down following the accident. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the collision.
