Two Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-580
RICHMOND, Calif. (Oct. 24, 2024) — A multi-vehicle Richmond car accident happened Thursday on the westbound Interstate 580 Freeway, just east of Marina Bay Parkway.
The collision occurred at around 7 a.m. on Oct. 24th, according to the California Highway Patrol dispatch report.
CHP officials reported the drivers of a Dodge Challenger, a black Ford Mustang, an SUV, and a van were involved.
The number one and two lanes of the freeway were blocked by the vehicles including the SUV and van both with major 360-degree damage.
Paramedics responded to help at least two people who were injured in the crash. One person had an injured right hand and another with an injured leg, the report said. It’s unknown if others were hurt or if anyone was taken to a hospital.
Tow trucks removed three of the four vehicles from the crash scene.
All traffic lanes reopened by 8:23 a.m. and investigators are working on the case to determine fault.
