Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-80 Freeway
RICHMOND, Calif. (Sept. 8, 2023) — A multi-vehicle car accident in Richmond happened Friday morning on the westbound Interstate 80 Freeway, just east of the Carlson Boulevard off ramp.
The collision occurred around 6:43 a.m. in the No. 2 lane of the I-80, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The drivers of a white Dodge Challenger or Charger sedan and a black Honda Accord were involved. A red Toyota Prius was also at the scene blocking traffic lanes, but it’s unknown if that one was involved.
The Dodge reportedly rear-ended the Honda and the vehicles sustained major front-end and rear-end damage respectively.
Paramedics responded to help anyone injured in the collision.
Meanwhile, tow trucks removed the Dodge and the Honda from the freeway.
Investigators are working to determine fault for the accident on the 80 Freeway in Richmond.
