1 Injured in Richmond Crash on Interstate 580 Near Bayview Avenue
RICHMOND, CA (January 19, 2022) – One was hospitalized after a crash on the Interstate 580 near Bayview Avenue in Richmond.
The California Highway Patrol first logged the incident on Wednesday evening. According to their dispatch, officers reported the wreck at about 7:20 p.m.
CHP said two vehicles collided for an unknown reason in the city of Richmond. They crashed on the eastbound Interstate 580, just west of Bayview Avenue.
2 Cars Collide
The dispatch described the cars as a gray Nissan Maxima and a white Dodge Ram pickup truck. The Nissan obtained major front-end damage upon impact.
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They found one person who sustained minor injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the patient to the Kaiser Permanente Richmond Medical Center for treatment. The report did not release the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the eastbound lanes of the Interstate 580 to shut down near Bayview following the wreck. The cause of the Richmond crash is still under investigation.
