2-Vehicle Crash on I-580 Freeway in Richmond
RICHMOND, Calif. (Oct. 20, 2022) — A two-vehicle Richmond crash happened Thursday morning on the westbound Interstate 580 Freeway, just east of the Canal Boulevard off ramp.
The collision occurred about 8:10 a.m. on Oct. 20th between a silver Toyota Tundra pickup truck and a black Honda Civic, according to the California Highway Patrol dispatch.
It’s unknown what led to the crash, but the vehicles blocked the Nos. 1, 2 and 3 lanes of the freeway.
Paramedics responded to help at least one person with minor injuries, but there are no further details.
The Honda suffered both moderate rear-end damage and major front-end damage in the crash. Meanwhile, the Toyota pickup had major left rear-end damage and was leaking oil, police said.
Tow trucks responded to remove the two vehicles from the roadway.
Finally, investigators are working on the case to determine fault.
