Motorcyclist Injured in Richmond Crash on I-80 Freeway
RICHMOND, Calif. (March 1, 2022) — A Richmond motorcycle accident happened on the westbound Interstate 80 Freeway Tuesday morning, just east of Cutting Boulevard.
The two-vehicle crash happened at 8:47 a.m. on March 1st, according to the California Highway Patrol. The drivers of a Harley Davidson motorcycle and an unknown vehicle collided due to unknown circumstances, police said.
CHP officials reported the motorcyclist went down in the No. 2 lane. The rider suffered a broken leg and other injuries. Paramedics responded to transport the injured rider to a hospital for further treatment, but there are no more details.
Meanwhile, the other motorist involved may have left the crash scene. Police issued a SigAlert due to multiple lanes blocked by the crashed bike and emergency responders.
Investigators are working on the case and will determine fault for the motorcycle accident on the 80 Freeway.
