Multi-Motorcycle Accident on Interstate 580
Richmond, Calif. (July 28, 2023) — A motorcycle accident involving six vehicles happened Friday mid-morning traveling westbound on the Interstate 580 Freeway near the Richmond San Rafael Bridge toll plaza.
The collision occurred in the westbound lanes about 11:29 a.m. on July 28th, in Contra Costa County according to a California Highway Patrol dispatch.
The accident that occurred in Richmond California involved five motorcycles and one other vehicle. Also, the crash caused major blockage in all lanes on the Interstate 580 Freeway. It was reported that the cause to the collision was due to an unknown vehicle that stopped suddenly in the middle of the highway. The paramedics were called on the scene and responded to help those hurt in the crash.
Meanwhile, tow trucks arrived on the scene to clear all the damaged cars and debris that resulted from the accident. Finally, investigators are going to continue working on the case to determine who is at fault for the accident in Richmond on the Interstate 580.
