
Pedestrian Struck, Killed Near Richmond San Rafael Bridge
RICHMOND, Calif. (Oct. 26, 2023) — A fatal pedestrian accident happened in Richmond last night on the westbound Interstate 580 Freeway at the Bayview Avenue off ramp.
The collision occurred near the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge at around 10:25 p.m. on Oct. 25th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported a driver struck the person in the No. 3 lane as they were crossing the roadway. The vehicle involved was blocking the roadway and police issued a SigAlert.
The Richmond Fire Department responded to the scene to help the injured person, but they unfortunately died at the scene, the report said. The victim’s name and age were not released.
Furthermore, there was a second collision in the same area after the pedestrian accident.
Investigators are working on the case to determine fault for the pedestrian accident.
