Truck Crashes with Car on I-580 Freeway in Richmond
RICHMOND, Calif. (Feb. 9, 2021) — A multi-vehicle crash involving a UPS truck happened Tuesday on the eastbound Interstate 580 Freeway in Richmond.
The collision was reported at 7:09 a.m. on Feb. 9th, just west of Stenmark Drive, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP report stated the UPS semi-truck was on top of a gray Nissan Altima sedan in the left lane of the freeway. Marin County Fire responded to the scene to help those who were possibly trapped in the vehicle, but it’s unknown at this time if there were injuries.
Additionally, police issued a SigAlert for the eastbound lanes of the freeway as the Nos. 1 and 2 lanes were blocked by the collision.
Meanwhile, the cause of the crash remains under investigation. Witnesses may contact the CHP.
