Riley Hanson, 16, Victim in Fatal Highway 99 Collision
LOCATION: Elk Grove
DATE OF ACCIDENT: Sunday, September 23rd
September 25, 2018- According to the Merced Sun-Star, a 16-year-old El Capitan High School student has been identified as the victim fatally injured in a car accident over the weekend on Highway 99.
According to the article, the collision occurred at around 6:00 p.m. near Eschinger Road involving several vehicles.
Reports sadly confirmed that Riley Hanson who was a passenger in one of the vehicles suffered major injuries as a result of the accident. She was rushed to Kaiser Permanente in Sacramento, where she sadly succumbed to her injuries.
California Highway Patrol confirmed that numerous other motorists were injured but no indication as to what extent and how many of those parties were hospitalized.
At this time, no details have been provided in regards to how the collision happened and what ultimately transpired.
CHP officials are currently investigating.
