
3 Injured in Rio Linda Crash at 18th Street and Elkhorn Boulevard
RIO LINDA, CA (May 7, 2023) – Several were injured after a crash at 18th Street and Elkhorn Boulevard in Rio Linda.
According to an article published by the ABC 10 News, the accident took place on Sunday evening. Officers reported the wreck on May 7 at around 6:10 p.m.
The incident happened when three vehicles collided for an unknown reason in Rio Linda. The cars crashed at the intersection of 18th Street and Elkhorn Boulevard.
Multiple Vehicles Collide
A report by the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District described a car involved as a red pickup truck. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and freed at least one trapped occupant from the wreckage.
A total of three people ended up hurt as a result of the collision. One victim sustained life-threatening injuries while the other two survived with moderate injuries.
Medical personnel then rushed all three patients to a hospital and listed one of them in critical condition. Officials did not release the names of the wounded parties.
Meanwhile, officers forced the area of 18th Street and Elkhorn Boulevard to shut down following the wreck. The cause of the Rio Linda crash is still under investigation.
