1 Seriously Injured in Crash at Rio Linda Boulevard and Marysville Boulevard
RIO LINDA, CA (October 7, 2021) – At least one was seriously injured after a car crash at Rio Linda Boulevard and Marysville Boulevard.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident occurred on Thursday evening. Officers reported the wreck shortly before 6 p.m.
The incident began when a white sedan was driving recklessly on northbound Rio Linda Boulevard, approaching Marysville Boulevard.
Reckless Driver Hits Another Car Head-On
CHP said the reckless driver then slammed head-on into a dark colored pickup truck in the Rio Linda intersection. The sedan lost its front wheel upon impact.
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They found one person who sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel took the patient to the Mercy San Juan Medical Center for treatment. The report did not release the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the road to shut down in both directions for about an hour following the Rio Linda crash. The collision is still under investigation.
