Motorcyclist Injured in Rio Linda Crash at 16th Street and Elkhorn Boulevard
RIO LINDA, Sacramento County (August 11, 2018) – A motorcyclist was hospitalized after a traffic collision in the area of 16th Street and Elkhorn Boulevard on Saturday, according to California Highway Patrol dispatch team.
The accident was reported shortly before 12 p.m.
As per the incident log, for an unknown reason a blue fully dressed Harley-Davidson motorcycle and a black Chrysler 300 collided at the intersection of 16th Street and Elkhorn Boulevard.

CHP said that the rider was thrown off the bike as a result of the crash. The motorcycle ended up on the side of the roadway while smoke was seen coming underneath the hood of the car.
Sacramento County Fire Department officials along with the paramedics responded to the scene and attended to the motorcyclist who was hurt following the wreck. The patient was then taken to Mercy San Juan Medical Center to be treated for minor injuries.
The name and condition of the victim at this time remained unknown. Meanwhile, authorities are still investigating the cause of the collision.
