T-Bone Collision in Rio Oso at Highway 70 and Kempton Road
RIO OSO, Calif. (August 3, 2021) — A Rio Oso crash on Highway 70 happened Tuesday morning near Kempton Road in Sutter County, California.
Two vehicles collided in the northbound lanes about 5:38 a.m. on August 3rd, according to the California Highway Patrol.
2-Vehicle Car Accident with Major Injuries
One of the drivers reportedly T-boned the other motorist at the intersection. The vehicles involved in the Rio Oso crash on Highway 70 were a small car and a Ford pickup truck. There is a stop sign at Kempton Road, but not for those traveling on State Route Highway 70.
Someone suffered major injuries in the collision prompting a call for an ambulance. The roadway reopened to traffic by 6:34 a.m. after both vehicles were towed.
Paramedics rushed at least one person with major injuries to a hospital for further treatment. Police did not provide the age, gender or identity of those hurt in the traffic accident.
Additionally, investigators seek to determine liability for the collision and ask witnesses to contact them.
