1 Injured in Rio Oso Hit-and-Run Crash on Highway 70 Near Road
SUTTER COUNTY, CA (September 15, 2021) – One was hospitalized after a hit-and-run crash on Highway 70 near Berry Road in Rio Oso.
The California Highway Patrol dispatch team said the accident took place early Wednesday. Officers reported the wreck at about 1:34 a.m.
According to CHP, two vehicles collided for an unknown reason in Rio Oso. They crashed on northbound Highway 70, just south of Berry Road.
The incident log described the cars as a gray minivan and a white Jeep. The minivan obtained major front-end damage upon impact.
2 Vehicles Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They found one victim who ended up suffering from a face injury as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the patient to a hospital for treatment. Officials did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the other driver involved did not stop to help and fled the area. Officers forced the northbound lanes of Highway 70 to shut down following the crash.
The cause of the Rio Oso hit-and-run collision is still under investigation.
