Ritesh Khanal, 42, ID’d as Suspect in Davis DUI Crash at Covell and Lake
DAVIS, CA (November 28, 2022) – Authorities detained Ritesh Khanal after a DUI crash at Covell and Lake boulevards in Davis.
Police determined that the 42-year-old Woodland man was under the influence of alcohol when the wreck took place last week on Monday.
The incident happened when Ritesh Khanal was driving in the area of West Covell and Lake boulevards in Davis. He then struck another vehicle head-on in the intersection.
The Davis Enterprise wrote that the collision occurred on November 21 at about 9:30 p.m. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and attended to the other driver who ended up hurt.
1 Injured in Wreck
The victim complained of pain as a result of the accident. Medical personnel rushed the patient to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
T]he name of the wounded party and their condition at this time were not released. Meanwhile, police found open containers of alcohol and marijuana inside the suspect car.
Officers arrested Ritesh Khanal on suspicion of DUI and DUI causing bodily injury following the crash. They soon booked him at the Yolo County Jail.
Police forced the area of Covell and Lake boulevards to shut down after the wreck. The cause of the Davis DUI crash is still under investigation.
