Marisela Wilkinson, 3 Children Injured in Fatal Head-on Crash
RIVERBANK, Calif. (August 8, 2018) – Two people were killed Tuesday night in a head-on crash just east of Riverbank on Patterson Road, just west of Langworth Road.
The crash was reported about 7:20 p.m. when a driver in a 2000 Toyota headed westbound on Patterson Road reportedly crossed into the path of an oncoming 2014 Dodge driven by Marisela Wilkinson.
The Toyota found its way back into its lane, but then suddenly swerved back in front of the Dodge. Wilkinson, a 32-year-old Oakdale resident, was unable to avoid the collision and the two vehicles crashed head-on.
The Toyota veered off the roadway and overturned into a ditch full of cattle waste runoff.
Bystanders attempted to rescue the people trapped in the Toyota, but were unable to due to extensive damage.
Two Oakdale residents who were inside the Toyota died at the scene.
Paramedics transported Wilkinson and three children who were inside the Dodge to a hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The children were identified as: Kylie Wilkinson, 11, Michael Wilkinson, 9, and Alexa Wilkinson, 6. They were all taken to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto
