Bicyclist Injured in Riverdale Hit-and-Run Crash on South Marks Avenue
RIVERDALE, CA (April 16, 2021) – A bicyclist was hospitalized after a hit-and-run crash along Marks Avenue in Riverdale.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident occurred on Friday morning. Officers reported the incident at about 10:35 a.m.
CHP said a vehicle struck the bicycle rider for an unknown reason. The driver hit the cyclist at 22022 South Marks Avenue in Riverdale.
Driver Hits Bicycle Rider, Flees Scene
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon responded to the scene near Grantline Avenue and Lewiston Avenue. They found the victim who ended up hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the patient to the hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. Officials did not release the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid to the bicyclist and fled southbound on Marks. Officers forced the road to shut down following the Riverdale crash.
Authorities are still searching for the hit-and-run suspect.
