RIVERSIDE COUNTY: Truck Accident on 215 Freeway Near Van Buren Boulevard

215 Freeway truck accident March 6RIVERSIDE COUNTY, California (March 6, 2017) – A major injury collision involving a big rig occurred on the Interstate 215 Freeway Monday afternoon, according to Riverside County Fire Department.

The accident was reported at 12:14 p.m. Four vehicles, including the semi-truck, collided in the southbound lanes of the freeway south of Van Buren Boulevard.

An online statement released by the Riverside County Fire Department said the big rig overturned, and its occupant was extricated from the wreckage. The victim was seriously hurt and was then taken to an area hospital for treatment.

Two other people from the other vehicles were also hospitalized. One patient suffered injuries described as moderate while the other sustained minor wounds. The names of all the injured parties  and their condition have not been yet disclosed.

Meanwhile, three other individuals involved were evaluated by paramedics on scene but refused medical aid. The truck leaked a small amount of diesel fuel in the roadway following the crash.

The cause of the incident is still under investigation.
