RIVERSIDE, California (January 19, 2015) – Two people were hospitalized following a 3-vehicle chain-reaction crash Monday morning on the northbound Interstate 15 Freeway at the Hidden Valley Parkway off ramp, according to a dispatch by the California Highway Patrol.
About 8:50 a.m., CHP officers were told the driver of a black Toyota sedan crashed into three other drivers on the off ramp including a red 2005 Dodge Ram pickup truck and a black 2004 BMW 525i 4-door sedan.
Following the crash, a man driving the black BMW was found hunched over the wheel and was not getting out. Paramedics responded and took two injured people to a local hospital for treatment.
Riverside County Accident Statistics
Traffic accidents in the city of Riverside took the lives of 17 people and injured 1,436 others in 2012, according to statistics compiled by the CHP’s Statewide Integrated Traffic Report. Additionally, there were 202 people killed and 7,446 injured in collisions reported in Riverside County the same year, the report said.
“Police will investigate this crash to determine liability and will issue a report with their findings which will be available to all involved parties,” said Attorney James Johnson.
