RIVERSIDE, California (September 12, 2014) – A big rig truck and two cars collided Friday morning on the northbound Interstate 215 Freeway, just north of Blaine Street, according to a dispatch by the California Highway Patrol.
About 10:14 a.m., local fire fighters responded to the crash to cut and rescue people who were trapped in the wreckage after three drivers collided in the HOV and No. 1 lanes.
The vehicles involved were a white 2013 Volkswagen Jetta, a white 2015 Kia Forte and a green 1996 Peterbilt big rig truck. One of the vehicles was leaking oil and all three vehicles were towed from the scene.
Paramedics assisted those who were injured in the crash and police issued a SigAlert about 10:24 a.m.
Police are heading up an investigation into the crash to determine liability.
“Hopefully all those involved have a full recovery,” said Attorney James Johnson.
