RIVERSIDE, California (Monday, August 3, 2015) – A 49-year-old Los Angeles man died due to a suspected allergic reaction after he was attacked in a bee swarm in the 5200 block of Van Buren Boulevard.
Douglas Queen was working as an electrician for JDI Electrical Solutions in Perris when he and fellow co-workers accidentally upset a bee hive came while they were grading a parking lot near a Walmart store.
Queen was taken to Parkview Community Hospital in Riverside where he later died at 10:25 a.m. The location and exact cause of his death is pending an investigation, according to a Riverside Coroner’s report. The other workers suffered minor to moderate injuries in the bee attack.
