1 Killed, 4 Injured in Riverside Crash on 91 Freeway Near Van Buren and Adams
RIVERSIDE, CA (July 29, 2022) – A crash killed one person and injured several others on the 91 Freeway near Van Buren and Adams in Riverside.
According to The Press Enterprise and FOX 11 News, the tragic accident took place early Wednesday. Officers reported the wreck shortly before 1 a.m.
The incident happened on July 27 when multiple vehicles collided for an unknown reason in the city of Riverside. They crashed on the eastbound 91 Freeway between Van Buren Boulevard and Adams Street.
Two cars rolled over and a third vehicle burst into flames due to the impact of the collision. Fire then spread to the brush behind an apartment building in the 8700 block of Indiana Avenue.
Multiple Cars Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and pronounced one individual dead at the scene. The California Highway Patrol said a total of four people ended up hurt as a result of the wreck.
Two patients sustained life-threatening injuries while the other two survived with minor injuries. Medical personnel rushed them to the hospital and listed two of them in critical condition.
The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released. Meanwhile, the cause of the fatal Riverside crash is still under investigation.
CHP forced all lanes of the 91 Freeway to shut down near Van Buren and Adams for hours following the wreck.
