RIVERSIDE, California (February 20, 2017) – A suspected DUI solo-car crash took place on University Avenue early Monday, according to The Press-Enterprise.
The accident occurred about 2:15 a.m. near Eucalyptus Avenue, in the Eastside neighborhood.
As per the article, Riverside Police Department said a car slammed into two trees and a light pole on University Avenue. The vehicle ended up wrapped around the pole on the south side of the street.
Its passenger Christopher Davidson, of Moreno Valley, was transported to a hospital and was later pronounced dead.
Meanwhile, police alleged that the driver was under the influence of alcohol when the crash happened. The 31-year-old Desert Hot Springs man was hospitalized with injuries described as moderate and will possibly be arrested after being treated.
The incident remains under investigation.
