At roughly 4:13 p.m., three vehicles collided including a white sedan, a black SUV, and a third vehicle.
A total of ten were injured, eight of which were transported to hospitals. One person was badly hurt and said to have been in critical condition.
University Avenue remained completely shut down between Market Street and Fairmount Boulevard while authorities investigated.
No details have been released specifying the cause of the collision.
