RIVERSIDE, California (August 22, 2014) — A man driving a pickup truck was injured early Friday morning when the vehicle collided with a semi-tractor trailer truck on the eastbound State Route 91 Freeway, just west of Central Avenue, according to a dispatch by the California Highway Patrol.
About 4:50 a.m., CHP officers reported the man was in his silvert 2005 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck and not moving after the collision blocking the Nos. 2 and 3 lanes of the freeway.
Police closed down the Arlington Avenue on ramp to the eastbound 91 Freeway temporarily to allow rescue workers to extricate the trapped man from his vehicle.
The condition of the man is not known, but paramedics responded to the scene of the crash to assist him with an ambulance.
Police are heading up an investigation into this crash to determine liability, said Attorney James Johnson.
“A police report will be issued upon the completion of their investigation and all parties involved may request a copy,” Johnson said.
