RIVERSIDE, California (June 24, 2014) – A motorcyclist went down early Tuesday morning in a crash with another driver in a gray Dodge Intrepid on the westbound State Route 91 Freeway at McKinley Street, according to a dispatch by the California Highway Patrol.
About 5:20 a.m., CHP officers responded to the collision involving the rider of a black 2014 Harley Davidson and the sedan that was blocking the HOV and No. 1 lanes of the freeway. The report did not indicate whether the rider or anyone else was injured.
Police will issue a report and assign liability for the crash.
Circle City Tow responded to the crash to remove the motorcycle.
RIVERSIDE ACCIDENT STATISTICS
The county of Riverside, which has approximately 2.3 million residents, reported 186 deaths and 7,262 injuries as a result of all traffic accidents in 2011, according to the latest report by the California Highway Patrol’s Statewide Integrated Traffic Report.
Indeed, the results include 74 people killed and 842 injured in alcohol-involved crashes; 37 killed and 338 injured in pedestrian accidents; 14 killed and 345 injured in bicycle crashes; and 18 killed and 533 injured in motorcycle crashes, the report said.
