RIVERSIDE, California (July 26, 2016) — A 50-year-old man who has been identified as Orlando Segura Bailon was killed Monday morning when he was tragically crushed to death by wood bundles or pallets as he was unloading them from a big rig truck at his workplace.
Bailon was unloading the shipment of wood pallets at Winship Stake and Lath at 400 Main Street when they suddenly fell on him about 10:30 a.m. Monday morning.
The Riverside Fire Department sent paramedics to the scene, but Bailon died of his injuries on site.
The cause of the accident is unknown at this time, but it is under investigation by Cal-OSHA to determine liability.
