Pedestrian Critically Injured in Riverside Crash Near Blaine and Iowa
RIVERSIDE, CA (April 22, 2022) – A pedestrian was critically injured after a crash near Blaine Street and Iowa Avenue in Riverside.
According to an article published by My News LA, the accident took place on Thursday night. Officers reported the collision at about 8:20 p.m.
The incident happened on April 21 when a male pedestrian walked onto Iowa Avenue near Blaine Street in Riverside. At the same time, a 2007 Chevrolet pickup was going south from the north.
For an unknown reason, the truck then hit the man. Police said the area is three blocks from the UC Riverside campus.
Man Hit by Vehicle
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They found the victim who sustained life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the man to the Riverside Community Hospital in critical condition. The report did not disclose the name of the wounded party.
Meanwhile, police added that the 20-year-old Moreno Valley driving the car stopped after hitting the person. The driver stayed at the site and cooperated with the officers.
Police forced the corner of Blaine and Iowa to shut down for a time following the collision. The cause of the Riverside pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
