Man in 20s Struck Crossing Magnolia Avenue
DATE OF COLLISION: Wednesday, July 18th
July 19, 2018- According to the Press-Enterprise, an injurious pedestrian versus auto collision was reported yesterday during the early evening on Magnolia Avenue.
The collision occurred around 4:30 p.m. between Brockton Avenue and Nelson Street.
Riverside police officials have reported that the driver of a white SUV struck the pedestrian victim who is only being ID’d as a man in his 20s.
The aftermath of the accident left the man with serious injuries as he was rushed to a hospital in critical condition, per the Press-Enterprise.
It remains unclear whether or not the man was in a designated crossing zone as those details were not made available.
No details were provided in regards to the driver of the SUV as Magnolia Avenue remained shut down for several hours while police investigated.

Based on the details provided so far from the report, it seems as though the driver will likely be held responsible for the collision as it is believed the victim was within the means of a marked crosswalk upon being struck.
