RIVERSIDE (September 7, 2016)- According to the Press-Enterprise, a 14-year-old girl was seriously injured following a pedestrian hit-and-run Wednesday morning.
The incident took place adjacent to La Sierra High School at the intersection of Cochran and La Sierra avenues at roughly 7:15 a.m.
Per the Press-Enterprise, the unidentified victim was inside the crosswalk before being struck by a motorist making a left turn from Cochran onto La Sierra Avenue.
The victim was seriously injured and rushed to Loma Linda University Medical Center. She remains in critical condition at this time.
Police officials have located and arrested a driver similar to that of the description given of the suspect by two teenage girls who witnessed the incident.
Per the Press-Enterprise, an update stated that Kelli Nguyen, 41, was arrested and taken to Robert Presley Detention Center.
Nguyen’s bail has been set at $60,000 and she is being charged with felony hit-and-run.
