RIVERSIDE (February 3, 2017)- According to the Press-Enterprise, a deadly incident where the suspect will possibly face murder charges took place Friday morning at or near the cross streets of Jackson Street and Van Buren Boulevard.
Sources disclose that the incident took place at precisely 10:10 a.m. when the driver of a white Toyota Corolla identified as Lawrence Aaseng, 51, purposely plowed into an unidentified transient man standing next to a tree and then a vehicle.
The homeless man who is only being identified as a man in his 60s sadly did not survive the impact and was pronounced at the scene.
Aaseng attempted to leave the scene but was thwarted by either Good Samaritans, police officials, or firefighter personnel.
He was arrested and jailed at Robert Presley Detention Center. He will face murder charges.
Meanwhile, the driver of the second vehicle remained at the scene.
Riverside PD are investigating and have not released any further information at this time.
